Castle Duel is a game of chance

It's a single player turn-based game with little to no strategy.

It plays like this:

  • At the beginning of the every turn, the dice is rolled.
  • The highest dice determines who plays that turn
  • Players pick a unit to attack and the following happens:
    • Swords clang against swords, both units will loose the sword
    • Unarmed units fighting armed units has a random chance of losing 1 or 2 lives
    • Unarmed units fighting unarmed units will cost 1 life from each

That's it, the point here is every unit you play will cost the counter unit to lose something as well as the unit you played with.

History

The game was built over a month while I was learning Unity and Haxe, development started on March 31, 2020. I started building it using Haxe and HaxeFlixel then switched to Unity.

It's not polished, it's not balanced but it's complete. Relatively, that is. The game loop is complete, I don't think I will be adding more to it but I might come back and maybe polish a bit.

Future

I like it, I'm happy I finished this, it's my first game and it's out there for your judgement if you ever happen to come by it. I do see issues in it, like for example not having a limit on how many times a player can play back to back due to the dice roll. However, for now I will be focusing on other projects.

Feel free to give me your feedback though, good or bad it's always welcomed.
